Monique de bouvrie ziek /\ Jan des Bouvrie was a Dutch architect, interior designer, and product designer who is best known for his 1969 “kubusbank sofa,” which is now regarded a design classic.
Jan des Bouvrie was born in the Netherlands and died in the Netherlands. Des Bouvrie was a notable instructor at a number of design institutes throughout his career.
In his honour, the design college Jan des Bouvrie Academy, located in Deventer, was established.
Des Bouvrie was born on August 3, 1942, in Naarden, the Netherlands. In the age of sixteen, he enrolled at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where he continued his studies after high school.
Later on, he opened his own interior design shop in Naarden and became the host of the television show TV Woonmagazine.
The suites at the Floris Suite Hotel were designed in a “Dutch colonial style with a Caribbean disposition,” according to him.
Des Bouvrie was married to interior designer Monique des Bouvrie, with whom he had two daughters. Des Bouvrie died in a car accident in 2007.
From his former marriage, he had two older children and a large number of grandchildren. Des Bouvrie, who was 78 at the time of his death in Naarden, passed away on October 4, 2020.
Monique des Bouvrie isn’t sure if the slow goodbye has had any effect on the situation. In one sense, it was great to be able to adjust slowly, which began a year before his death and was completed a year before his death.
We were fortunate enough to be able to say farewell in a wonderful manner. If someone dies abruptly, it is possible that he or she is more’really gone’ than previously thought.
I believe that Jan has not disappeared at all, but rather has become very much present.”
Monique co-owned and operated ‘Het Arsenaal’, a concept store for interior design, with her husband Jan. “It took a while for me to get used to it at first.
We could discuss about a variety of topics. I had reached a point where I was done with it. It was time for me to quit debating and just get things done. He might become enraged as a result of this.”
‘He’s pulled down all of the discarded ceilings, and I’m putting them back up because I really like it again.’ After hearing and seeing that, I believe he will roll over in his grave.”
Monique describes their most recent time together as follows: “Not losing yourself, but being there for a partner, that’s quite a difficult one to master.”
According to Des Bouvrie, she and Otto are currently enjoying a’very lovely time’ together in their home. During a business meeting in November, the two had the opportunity to meet.
“We hit immediately instantly,” said Monique, a 59-year-old woman who says she and Klein are currently “dating a lot.”
Otto Klein is a fashion designer that is engaged in the industry. In 1998, he established his own wholesale company, Collections.
‘Collections stands apart in the fashion industry because of its diverse collection of brands.
International and prominent women’s fashion brands are showcased in our showroom, which draws retailers from all around the country,” Klein wrote on the business social networking site LinkedIn.
